Massage begins 5 minutes after the patient is in the water, and massage rules are strictly adhered to. Mostly the limbs are massaged, and the rest of the body is massaged gently, under one atmosphere pressure. Underwater showers-massage have been shown to have nerve symptoms of spinal cord injury (abdominal, thoracic radiculitis), which are at the chronic stage of the disease.
Dry carbon dioxide bath
During dry carbon dioxide baths, a moderate flow of carbon dioxide and steam is provided without the presence of water. The gas is supplied along with heated steam, which is necessary to enlarge the pores of the skin and ensure proper penetration of carbon dioxide into the body. Carbon dioxide dilates capillaries and improves blood circulation, has a beneficial effect on the skin and the formation of biologically active substances. Due to improved blood circulation, the body’s resistance increases, and the expansion of blood vessels contributes to a decrease in blood pressure.
